MEET THE TRAINERS

Chad Flahive

Chad has parlayed his extensive background in health and rehabilitation, a lifelong passion for fitness, and his love of friends and community to create a community-driven vision for Public Body. As an AAFA certified fitness instructor, Chad dreamed of creating a fitness program where people could not only work hard but play hard, celebrating group and personal accomplishments on the road to total hotness and awesomeness. His philosophy promotes a balance of intense exercise, balanced nutrition, and social play with like-minded fitness rockstars. Public Body is a reflection of his belief that it not only "takes a village" but that "we make the village," and that we can all be stronger together. Chad brings his knowledge, energy, creativity (and gratuitous, impromptu Beyonce’ dance moves) to create unique opportunities for all to push their limits and achieve results. Whether held in local parks, on the beaches of Provincetown, or in the clubs, every session is a reflection of his commitment to challenge, entertain, and inspire. Chad has designed and led fitness classes at exclusive gyms and boutique clubs like Equinox, Barry's Bootcamp, and Reebok, among other Boston-area gyms and studios. He looks forward to getting it on with you this summer and is forever thankful for this fantastic community of fitness rockstars known as Public Body!

Maryanne Blake

One of the most sought-after fitness pros in Boston, Maryanne has been bringing her no-nonsense, unparalleled fitness programming to Boston for the past 15 years. While earning her degree in Exercise Physiology she began teaching classes and coaching clients as a way to gain some experience. After some time in the clinical field and management roles she realized her true passion was teaching!  Part of her motivation is how hard her students are willing to work. "The human spirit is an amazing thing to watch, and I am so fortunate to be a part of other peoples journey!" She loves it when a client nails a workout, knows they've done their best, and tells her the session was the best part of their day. Maryanne’s philosophy is simple: Hard Work + Dedication = Results. She teaches a variety of disciplines, but is widely recognized and celebrated for her ridiculous strength and athletic style of teaching. In fact, we’re pretty certain that in the wee hours of the night she bounds from the tops of building fighting crime.  An avid runner and recreational triathlete, Maryanne continues to pursue her own PR’s season after season. Fitness has become so much more for her than a job. It is truly is her life.  Maryanne has been featured in several Fitness magazines including Shape, Fitness, Marie Clare, Health, Gotham, and Boston Magazine.
